Cleveland Indians 2011 Season Preview
Posted 3/9/2011
The Cleveland Indians rebounded from a slow start in 2010 to finish strong, giving fans a glimmer of hope heading into this year.

Grady Sizemore missed essentially the entire season, giving fans hope that the team will improve even more with his return. However, it remains to be seen if Sizemore will return to his old self this season, if ever.

There is plenty of other young talent to get excited about around the diamond, starting with catcher Carlos Santana. He might even remind some of a young Victor Martinez.

Shinn-Soo Choo is as underrated as they come for his work at the plate and in the field. Asdrubal Cabrera and Jason Donald are two young middle infielders who are looking to establish themselves as everyday players.

The pitching staff is the biggest area of concern. Cleveland fans still dream about the possibility of C.C. Sabathia and Cliff Lee headlining their starting rotation. Instead, they are left with Fausto Carmona and a bunch of young, unproven starters.

Cleveland should be significantly better this year, but it still won't be enough to compete for a playoff spot. They should stay out of the cellar thanks to the Royals, but it will be tough to pass any of the other clubs in the division.
