Baltimore Orioles 09-10 Season Recap
The Baltimore Orioles got off to a horrific start that really turned off their fan base, but righted the ship down the stretch to build momentum into next season.
The Orioles brought in some veterans in the offseason hoping to show improvement in the standings, but a 2-15 start to the year threw those dreams out the window.
The team eventually fired manager Dave Trembley, replacing him with third base coach Juan Samuel, before giving the job to Buck Showalter over the final two months of the season.
All Showalter did in his two months with the club was guide the Orioles to the best record in the American League East over that period of time. The team's miraculous turnaround under Showalter lit a fire under a fan base longing for a winner, and built a lot of momentum heading into the offseason.
The big question now is whether or not the Orioles will make any significant offseason acquisitions to give Showalter the players he needs to compete for 162 games in the ultra-competitive American League East.
