Virginia Tech 2010 Mid Season Review
Posted 11/4/2010
The Virginia Tech Hokies came into the 2010 season with hopes of a national championship, but those thoughts quickly vanished after a disastrous, unthinkable start to the year.

For the third straight year, Virginia Tech opened the season in a high-profile game played in an NFL stadium and came up short. After falling behind big in the first quarter to Boise State, the Hokies rallied and were more competitive than in the previous two season openers, but ultimately lost by two points.

The Hokies must have still been held up on their disappointing season-opening loss, following it up with an unbelievable loss to James Madison.

It looked as though the season might be a lost cause for Virginia Tech, especially after falling behind by double digits in their third game against East Carolina. However, the Hokies rallied back for their first win of the season and haven't lost since, showing improvement nearly ever week.

Thanks to Miami, Georgia Tech and Miami all underachieving, the Hokies are in the driver's seat to win the Coastal Division and yet again play in the ACC championship game. Frank Beamer's kids have an excellent chance at playing in another BCS bowl, which would be a tremendous accomplishment given the way they started the season.
