The Villanova Wildcats have become one of the premiere teams in the country year-in and year-out under head coach Jay Wright.
Wright loves to play undersized lineups, opting to go with three and four guards and a big man that can really get up and down the floor. He always seems to find a way to create match-up problems for his opponents.
The coach has been forced to replace a number of star guards over the past few years, but he always seems to have players waiting in the wings to replace them and finally get their chance to shine.
Corey Fisher, who was a significant contributor last year, is likely to be the big star this season. He will have fellow senior Corey Stokes right beside him to shoulder some of the load and to share leadership responsibilities.
There is also is the school of thought that Scottie Reynolds, who graduated from last year's team, really hurt the Wildcats with his ugly shooting percentages. With Reynolds out of the picture, maybe Villanova can become more efficient on the offensive end of the floor.
Villanova should be the best team in the Big East this year and a serious Final Four contender. Don't be surprised if Wright finally wins his first national championship.
