2011 Rose Bowl Predictions
Posted 12/7/2010
The Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Texas Christian Horned Frogs in the Rose Bowl on January 1 at 5 p.m. at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Could anyone have envisioned a scenario before the start of the season that would have Wisconsin and TCU battling each other for the "Grand Daddy" of them all?
TCU did crash the BCS party last year, but they were matched up against Boise State, another school not from a power conference. This year, the Horned Frogs benefitted from Boise State's stunning loss to Nevada to secure a BCS berth and nearly land in the national champoinship game.
Wisconsin upset top-ranked Ohio State earlier in the season and finished in a three-way tie for the Big 10 title. By being the highest ranked of the three teams, the Badgers won the tie-breaker and an invitation to the Rose Bowl.
TCU would love to finish undefeated and prove to all of the doubters around the country that they, along with Boise State, truly belong among the elite college football programs.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin would love to win the Rose Bowl but also realizes how damaging a loss could be for their program and the Big 10.
Prediction: TCU 33, Wisconsin 27
