2010 Poinsettia Bowl Predictions The Navy Midshipmen and San Diego State Aztecs will face off in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on December 23 at 8 p.m. at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

This will be an interesting matchup because San Diego State is essentially playing at home and should have a lot of support, but the Naval Academy will benefit from the huge naval base in the city.

San Diego State hasn't reached a bowl game since 1998, so this game has added meaning for them.

Navy has failed to live up to expectations, beginning with a disastrous season-opening loss to a Maryland team that thorougly outplayed. Ricky Dobbs was considered a darkhorse Heisman Trophy candidate, but his numbers were done significantly from a year ago.

The Midshipmen also surrendered the Commander-In-Chief trophy with a loss to Air Force. A win in the Poinsettia Bowl could help to at least take away some of the pain of a disappointing season.
