Outback Bowl Tickets

The Georgia Bulldogs will face off against the Michigan State Spartans in the Outback Bowl on January 2 at 1:00 p.m.

Both teams are coming off similar finishes to their seasons, as each fell short in its respective conference championship game. Michigan State lost a late lead against Wisconsin, who got revenge for their loss to the Spartans on a hail mary on the last play of the game earlier in the year. Georgia looked poised to spring an upset of LSU, only to fold in the second half.

While both teams are surely disappointed to miss out on a BCS bowl, they have a lot to play for in this game. It will be the final game in the college career of Spartans quarterback Kirk Cousins, who wants to go out on top. Georgia head coach Mark Richt has been on the hot seat, and a victory in a quality bowl game would help cool things off a bit.

Michigan State and Georgia were two of the top defensive teams in the country throughout the season, something you might not have figured after watching them each surrender 42 points in their respective conference championship games. Expect a physical matchup, but it could be Georgia's speed that makes the difference in the end.
