Discover Orange Bowl 2011 Preview The Discover Orange Bowl will be played on January 3 at 8:30 p.m. at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. The game will feature the Big East champion facing off against the ACC champion, so long as neither ends up reaching the BCS title game.

That won't be the case this year, as in virtually every other year over the past decade or so, as both conferences have fallen on hard times.

For the ACC, it looks like Virginia Tech will rebound from a horrific start to the season to represent the conference in the Orange Bowl.

Things are much more unclear in the Big East, which is really struggling to find anyone worthy of playing in a BCS game. For now, it looks like Pittsburgh has the inside track, but that is all subject to change.

The game is played at Sun Life Stadium, home of both the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes. It is a popular bowl among a couple of ACC teams, in particular Miami and Florida State.
