Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl Tickets

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Franklin America Mortgage Music City Bowl on December 30 at 6:40 p.m.

For Wake Forest, getting back to a bowl game this year was a huge accomplishment after enduring a trying 2010 season, one that head coach Jim Grobe felt was a short rebuilding period.

The Demon Deacons aren't the most explosive team you will ever run across on either side of the ball, but they find a way to get the job done. They lost very close games to Clemson and Notre Dame and knocked off Florida State. They do come into the bowl game coming off a disappointing and embarassing 41-7 loss to Vanderbilt.

Mississippi State's season was somewhat of a disappointment and did not meet expectations, but you can't really fault them for their losses. They fell to Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas. Three of those teams were ranked in the top six this year, and another went to the SEC championship game.

The Bulldogs are clearly the better team in this matchup despite their record. They played in a much tougher conference, and they should be able to shut down Wake Forest's pedestrian offense.

Prediction: Mississippi State 23, Wake Forest 10
