2010 Independence Bowl Predictions
Posted 12/7/2010
The Air Force Falcons and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will face off in the Advocare V100 Independence Bowl on December 27 at 5 p.m. at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, La.

For the Yellow Jackets, it's been a season of major disappointment. Considered an ACC title contender, Georgia Tech's defense struggled much of the year, and their offense had problems consistenly putting points on the board.

Air Force was thrilled to finally take away the Commander-In-Chief trophy from the Naval Academy. They also lost very close games to heavyweights like Utah and Oklahoma and knocked off BYU.

Both of these teams run the triple-option and are the top two rushing offenses in the country. Yellow Jackets coach Paul Johnson has beaten Air Force six times in his career, so he is very familiar with them from his time at Navy.

Georgia Tech's defense is certainly susceptible, but it's hard to envision Air Force having the athletes to beat them at their own game.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 30, Air Force 24
