2009 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl Predictions
Posted 12/22/2008
The Oklahoma State Cowboys will take on the Oregon Ducks in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl on December 30 at 8 p.m. in San Diego.
The Cowboys are arguably one of the most underrated teams in the country because they were overshadowed all year by the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns and Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Those three teams accounted for the team's only losses on the season.
They have an oustanding offense that features a number of weapons and is led by duel-threat quarterback Zac Robinson. He is one of the most underrated signal callers in the college game.
Wide receiver Dez Bryant had over 1,300 yards and an astounding 18 touchdowns. He is one of the most talented playmakers in the nation. Running back Kendall Hunter isn't bad either, rushing for more than 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Oregon had a solid season that featured acceptable losses at Southern California and California and a close defeat at home to undefeated Boise State.
The Ducks come into this game having won three straight and having scored 35, 55 and 65 points in those victories. They scored over 60 points in three games in 2008, so they know how to put the ball in the end zone.
They are led by a top running duo of Jeremiah Johnson and LeGarette Blount, who combined for over 2,000 yards rushing and 28 touchdowns. Oregon will look to keep the ball in their hands and away from the high-scoring Cowboys.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 44, Oregon 33
