The Cotton Bowl used to be played at the Cotton Bowl, but the new Cowboys Stadium is seen as the venue that can take the historic game to a higher level.

A team from the SEC will face off against one from the Big 12 in what is sure to be a tremendous matchup.

This year will be the 75th Cotton Bowl, which was first played in 1937 in front of 17,000 fans. Bowl organizers are hoping that this year's game comes close to a sellout, which would mean over 100,000 fans in attendance.

Mississippi has played in the last two Cotton Bowl games and has come away victorious in both, knocking off Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
