2011 Capital One Bowl Predictions The Alabama Crimson Tide and Michigan State Spartans will face off in the Capital One Bowl on January 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Michigan State hung around in the Big 10 title hunt all season, even overcoming a heart attack that struck their head coach. They ultimately lost out on a BCS berth because of a tiebreaker, but this game is a nice landing spot.

While the Spartans exceeded expecations, the Crimson Tide fell well short of theirs. Despite bringing back several key pieces of last year's national title team, Alabama lost three games and didn't even make it to the SEC championship game.

You can bet that head coach Nick Saban is fuming inside that cross-town rival Auburn is undefeated, playing in the national championship game and garnering all of the local and national attention.

If Alabama can get up for this game, they should roll. If they are still getting over the disappointment of what is a season marred by underachievement, the Spartans could make it interesting.
