2011 Tostitos BCS National Championship Predictions
Posted 12/7/2010
The Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks will face off in the Tostitos BCS National Championship game on January 10 at 8:30 p.m. at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
If any team deserves to be in the national championship game, it's Auburn. They ran the gauntlet in the SEC, emerging undefeated despite dealing with persistent off-the-field distractions regarding quarterback Cameron Newton.
Oregon has garnered a lot of attention for their break-neck offensive pace, but some wonder if the Ducks aren't a little bit soft or if their defense can slow some of the country's top offenses.
Auburn and Oregon's offenses could be called a wash, but the defensive edge has to go to the Tigers. Newton reminds me a lot of Vince Young, and he should be the difference if the game comes down to the wire.
This has the potential to be one of the highest scoring national championship games ever played, and it's certainly one you don't want to miss.
Prediction: Auburn 38, Oregon 27
