Florida State Seminoles 2010 Mid Season Review
Posted 11/5/2010
The Florida State Seminoles got off to a strong start, with some even proclaiming that the program was back and set to return to national prominence.

Such proclamations may have been a bit premature considering the embarassing loss the Seminoles endured at Oklahoma. Florida State was kicked up and down the field by the Sooners, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

The Seminoles quickly recovered from the loss to rattle off five straight wins, including a beatdown of the rival Miami Hurricanes. Quarterback Christian Ponder hasn't played anything like a Heisman Trophy candidate, but the team has still found ways to win.

Florida State then dropped a close one of North Carolina State, a game they certainly had in the bag until a freak fumble potentially cost them an ACC championship. To win the division and reach the ACC championship game, the 'Noles will have to win their final conference games and hope NC State loses again.

The good news is that NC State still has four ACC opponents remaining, and other than a contest against Wake Forest, they will all be tough games to win.

Florida State's program would greatly benefit from a shot at the ACC title and a potential BCS berth, officially putting them back on the map.
