Snowboard - Snowboard Cross - Women's Tickets

The women's snowboard boardercross features competitors making their way through a marked, snow-covered course.

The competition takes place in heats of four, with the top two athletes from each heat advancing to the next round.

The tournament elimination style of the event certainly adds to the excitement, as athletes know they can't afford to have one bad run on the course.

There is also plenty of contact between the athletes on the course as they jockey for the best position.

At the 2006 Winter Olympics, Tanja Frieden took home the gold medal for Switzerland, but the United States refused to be shut out.

Lindsey Jacobellis did just enough to gain the silver medal, holding off Domonique Maltais from Canada.

After a decent performance at the 2006 Games, you can bet the U.S. women's team will be looking to show some improvement in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
