2010 Figure Skating - Pairs Tickets

Pairs figure skating is a sport which requires an incredible chemistry between the male and female athletes.

Not only do both athletes have to possess incredible skill on the ice, but they must know what move their counterpart will make next at all times.

It's also one of the most beautiful sports to watch, as two graceful athletes move so well together they almost become one.

Pairs always consists of a man and a woman who perform together as a team and are judged as one.

Because the men are typically quite strong and the women very light, some of the manuevers performed are breathtaking.

Most competitions feature the man flipping the woman in the air or holding her above his head as he circles the ice.

While the jumps, spins and footwork are critical, so is the form and dancing displayed by the skaters.

The Soviet Union was traditionally a very powerful figure skating program, and that continues today as Russia is considered a great team.

The United States holds its own, though pairs skating has never been their strength.
