The Freedom Ball is one of the official presidential inauguration balls. In 2005, it was held at Union Station primarily for residents of Alaska, Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan and Diplomatic Corps.
In 2005 two big bands, The Gene Donnati and Casablanca, entertained the masses, along with Larry Scott. The Freedom Ball was unique because it hosted foreign ambassadors from over 250 nations. In addition to the glittery ball gowns and tuxedos, the colorful official uniforms also adorned the crowd. The ball was held in Union Station.
At the Freedom Ball, the Freedom Martini is a hot item - it is blue curaco, vodka or gin, vermouth and a raspberry of blueberry at the bottom - very patriotic!
As one of the presidents official inaugural balls, attendees will be listening for the crash of cymbal and the patriotic tune Hail to the Chief to be performed, as it means the new president is on the way in the room! Revelers will rush to catch a glimpse of the new leader, and you can be part of the crowd!
