The Tennessee Titans rebounded from a horrific start last season to finish on a very positive note and look like a team poised to take a big step forward in 2010.

Quarterback Vince Young began the season as the backup to Kerry Collins, but the team really started to take off when the youngster replaced the veteran under center.

Running back Chris Johnson remains the key cog to this offense. His blazing speed makes him a threat to break one loose for a touchdown every single time he touched the ball. The Titans biggest worry has to be giving him as many touches as possible without wearing him down too much or putting him at a higher risk for injury.

The Titans are hoping that wide receiver Kenny Britt will continue to develop in his second season and become a big-time target for Young. They are also hopeful that Young can continue to mature on and off the field, which is a concern after the brawl he incited in the offseason.

The defense improved toward the end of last year but clearly misses the presence of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to clog up the middle and collapse the pocket.

Tennessee is in a tough division so it will be a tough task to reach the postseason. However, if they can build off of where they left off last year, the Titans stand a good shot at reaching the playoffs.

Brown vouches for Young to get Heisman
Posted September 4, 2010 by steve
Texas Longhorns head coach Mack Brown said Vince Young should receive the Heisman if Reggie Bush has to give it back.
Bush might have to give back his Heisman award because of the benefits he was given while at USC.
Young had a phenomenal season and was probably just as, if not more, deserving of the award than Bush anyway.
I'm not sure I understand why the award would be stripped from Bush considering it has nothing to do with his play on the field.
If he used performance-enhancers, that would be understandable, but receiving benefits does not make him a better player.
Johnson out 8-12 weeks
Posted August 21, 2010 by steve
Tennessee Titans rookie running back Stafon Johnson will miss the next 8-12 weeks with a?dislocated ankle.
Johnson suffered the injury during the team's first preseason game on a gruesome play late in the game.
It was a disturbing scene for many considering how Johnson battled back from a horrific weight room accident last year.
Ironically, the game was being played against the Seattle Seahawks, who are coached by former USC coach Pete Carroll.
Carroll?was?visibly upset for his former player's injury, and Johnson was seen crying as he was carted off the field.?
Young won't be suspended
Posted August 10, 2010 by steve
Tennessee Titans starting?quarterback Vince Young will not be suspended by his team or the NFL.
Young got in trouble this offseason when he touched off a brawl at a nightclub, leading to speculation he could be suspended.
It was a disheartening scene caught on video, particularly after the Titans thought Young had finally matured.
He took over as the starting quarterback at midseason and guided the Titans to a respectable record over the second half.
He played like one of the top 10 to 15 quarterbacks in the league over the time period, giving the Titans hope that the light finally went on in his head.
Johnson gets new deal for '10
Posted July 21, 2010 by steve
Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson has agreed to a new deal for the 2010 season.
The new deal is expected to pay Johnson about $2.5 million this season, enough to get him into training camp.
Johnson still wants a revised long-term contract as well, but is willing to accept the new deal until after the season.
The amended contract means Johnson will no longer be the lowest paid running back on the roster.
For the Titans, it means that man that produces almost all of their offense will be happy for the upcoming season.
Bo rips Young
Posted July 14, 2010 by steve
Former MLB and NFL star Bo Jackson had some?critical comments directed toward Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young.
Jackson said he was concerned and disturbed when Young?told an interviewer that nobody could tell him what to do.
The former running back said that Young's attitude is what caused his?recent brawl at a strip?club.
The fight allegedly began because someone said something derogatory about Texas, where Young grew up and went to college.
Jackson said he wouldn't be so shallow as to care enough about what someone thought and cause a brawl over it.
