Pittsburgh Steelers 2011 Season Preview
Posted 8/18/2011
The Pittsburgh Steelers came up just a few plays short in last year's Super Bowl and will have a long trend working against them to make another push at a title.
Teams that lose the Super Bowl have a long history of failing to perform well in the following season, a trend the Steelers hope to reverse this season. To do so, they will have to overcome some off-the-field issues once again.
While the Steelers didn't have to deal with the hoopla surrounding Ben Roethlisberger, there were some offseason distractions to contend with. Hines Ward was arrested for DUI while James Harrison ripped the commissioner over safety issues and a couple of his teammates for their poor play in the Super Bowl.
It's also not a secret that many of Pittsburgh's core players aren't getting any younger, and the window to win another Super Bowl may be closing. It will once again be a brutal battle between the Steelers and Ravens to decide the division champ, and possibly the AFC's top team.
