New York Jets 2011 Playoffs Preview
Posted 1/4/2011
The New York Jets come into the NFL playoffs feeling better about themselves after a dominating win in the season finale over the Buffalo Bills.
The Jets came into the season with a lot of hype after reaching the AFC championship game last year and picking up a number of free agents in the offseason. They were already calling themselves a dynasty, but it didn't quite work out as planned.
New York was actually inconsistent on both sides of the ball. It wasn't surprising to see Mark Sanchez fall flat on his face in big games, but it was unexpected to see the defensive unit cave at various moments.
The Jets get an AFC championship rematch in the first round, and head coach Rex Ryan can't wait. Peyton Manning has been the biggest thorn in his side going back to his days coaching the Ravens, and he would like to avenge last year's playoff loss.
The Jets play the type of physical football on both sides of the ball that could give the Colts some trouble, but will the defense play to their potential?
New York has the ability to knock off a team, but it is unlikely to make a deep run because of the shaky play at quarterback.
