New York Giants 2011 Season Preview The New York Giants missed the playoffs last year and are looking to once again reign supreme in the NFC East.

It was a quiet offseason for New York, which passed on Plaxico Burress and opted to re-sign running backs Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, as well as defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka.

They also dealt with the controversy surrounding defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who remains furious with the franchise over his contract situation. He demanded a trade, but the Giants ultimately decided to hold onto him.

The Giants need their defensive line to stay healthy and have a big season, especially considering that it's the best way to slow down their top competitor in the division, the Philadelphia Eagles.
