Miami Dolphins 2008 Article
With Bill Parcells going into his first season running the Miami Dolphins, the team is set to begin a full rebuilding project after winning just one game all of last year, and it took overtime to get it done. There is little doubt Parcells will get this turned around given his amazing track record. He has won everywhere he has gone. Give him three years and this team should be a legitimate playoff contender. However, this isn't 2010 or 2011, so the Dolphins and their fans must prepare for what should be another brutal season. There will be a number of interesting storylines for the Dolphins this season, beginning with defensive end Jason Taylor. The team was not happy he spent so much time participating in Dancing with the Stars instead of preparing for the upcoming season. Taylor isn't happy that the Dolphins won't support his future acting aspirations and feels misunderstood. The team claims they want to keep Taylor, but rumors persist that they are shopping him around the league. Taylor says he wants to play one more season with the Dolphins, but it's hard to imagine he wouldn't welcome a trade to a Super Bowl contender. The quarterback position will also be interesting. By drafting quarterback Chad Henne this year, it seems as though Parcells is not convinced that last year's drafting of John Beck is going to work out. I'm not sure that Henne will begin the season as the starter, but I'd be willing to bet that he will be the preferred choice by midseason and probably get to finish out the year. Both running backs are coming off of season-ending injuries. Ronnie Brown was leading the NFL in rushing despite playing for a winless team before he blew out his knee. Ricky Williams made his infamous return last year and suffered a season ending injury during the first quarter of his first game back. Brown has been working out extremely hard this offseason to be close to 100 percent healthy to start the season, while Williams has been trying to get back into the shape necessary to play in the NFL. The team will likely win more than one game in 2008, but there is little doubt that they will finish in last place in the division. Still, any improvement in the win column while the rebuilding gets underway is a good sign for the Dolphins. GreatSeats.com uses secure servers to process your order for the Miami Dolphins.
