Maryland Terrapins backup quarterback Chris Turner will start Saturday against Middle Tennessee State.
The teams starting quarterback, Jordan Steffy, tore ligaments in his thumb in the first game of the season and will miss at least three weeks.
Head coach Ralph Friedgen said he was unsure who he would have started should Steffy have been healthy.
Steffy was named the starter at the end of the summer despite the reservations of many Terps fans.
Terps fans prefer Turner because of the way he came on in relief of Steffy last season and led the team to two victories over top ten teams. |
