Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Richard Collier was shot as he and a former teammate waited outside an apartment complex for two women.
It is unknown where Collier was shot and little information about the incident has been released. His former teammate managed to escape uninjured.
The lineman is said to be fighting for his life in a hospital, where numerous teammates have gathered to show support for their co-worker and friend.
After undergoing surgery, Collier was listed in critical but stable condition, giving family and friends hope that he might be able to pull through.
Collier is the third NFL player to be shot in the past 18 months, with the previous two passing away. |
