The Kansas City Chiefs have named Tyler Thigpen their new starting quarterback.
With injuries to Brodie Coyle and veteran Damon Huard, the Chiefs had little choice but to turn to Thigpen.
Thigpen, the first player from Coastal Carolina ever selected in the NFL Draft, clearly lacks a lot of experience. He did see some playing time at the end of last weeks loss to the Oakland Raiders.
Some fans are pleased with the decision to start Thigpen, hoping that the team is launching into a total, painful rebuilding process rather than a quick fix.
Thigpen will certainly be given a chance to win the job, as Huard is not a part of the teams future plans and Coyle is chronically injured.
