When the Houston Astros began the 2008 season, this is what they were dreaming about.
The Astros won their sixth straight game, beating the National League Central leading Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field, 3-0.
Oswalt, who has struggled all season with injuries and failed to live up to his high standards, pitched another outstanding game following his return from the disabled list and appears to be his old self again.
He even fought through a torn finger nail, an injury he said he felt every time he tried to throw a breaking fall.
Its too little, too late for the once-fading Astros, but maybe a strong September will give them something to build on come spring training. |
