It’s never a good thing when a player has to go on the disabled list. It’s even worse when two have to go on the DL at the same time.

However, putting two players who play the same position on the DL at the same time is pretty much a crisis, which is what the Toronto Blue Jays are faced with.

The team announced that shortstops David Eckstein and John McDonald have both been placed on the DL after being injured an inning apart in a recent game.

The team is expected to hand over the starting duties to Marco Scutaro and has promoted Joe Inglett from Triple-A.
