The Miami Dolphins know how important the draft is as they rebuild their franchise.

I liked the selection of offensive tackle Jake Long with the No. 1 overall pick. He will give them a fantastic run blocker and a player who can develop his pass-protecting skills.

Defensive end Phillip Merling was selected in the second round and will pair with Jason Taylor to cause matchup problems.

The Dolphins selected quarterback Chad Henne in the third round, proving they are far from sold on John Beck. I don’t think Henne is any good, but I’m not high on Beck either.
