San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan and quarterback Alex Smith are on better terms as they prepare for the 2008 season.

Smith was mad last year with Nolan’s lack of support when he was hurt, while the head coach believed his quarterback was quitting on his team.

The two have since patched things up and forgotten their disagreements from last year.

Smith comes into training camp battling for his starting job with backup Shaun Hill.
