The Arizona Wildcats have hired Denver Nuggets assistant coach Mike Dunlap for the same role with their team.

Dunlap spent the last two seasons on head coach George Karl’s staff after coaching at the Metro State College of Denver.

He was also considered for head coaching jobs at Oregon State and California this spring.

Dunlap will likely be the replacement for Kevin O’ Neill, who served as the team’s interim coach and was to take over after Lute Olson retired, but those plans have since changed.
