Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge has won the NBAs Executive of the Year award for his job in turning around the team in 2007-2008.
Ainge received 18 of the 47 votes, with Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak finishing second with 14 votes. New Orleans Hornets GM Jeff Bower finished third with 12.
The Celtics won just 24 games in 2006-2007, but managed to win an NBA-best 66 games this season.
The credit has to go to Ainge, who orchestrated offseason trades to acquire stars Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. |
