The Oakland Raiders have signed defensive end Greg Spires to a one-year contract.

Spires will fill the void left by defensive end Chris Clemons, who left to sign a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

Spires spent the past six seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being released as a salary cap casualty this offseason.

He has 39 1/2 career sacks and also recorded one in the Bucs victory over the Raiders in the Super Bowl in 2002.
