The Maryland Terrapins have added a local safety after Archbishop Curley’s Eric Franklin chose the Terps over Akron and Richmond.

Considering the other teams in the hunt, this obviously isn’t a top signing for the Terps. However, it shows their ability to keep local kids in the state and adds some depth to their roster.

Franklin wants to study engineering and feels that Maryland’s highly rated program is the perfect place for him.

He also likes the convenience of how close College Park is to his house, as well as the coaches he has developed a relationship with, particularly defensive coordinator Chris Cosh.
