In a move that comes completely out of left field, the Chicago Bulls have offered former NBA player Vinny Del Negro their head coaching position.

Del Negro is currently the assistant general manager of the Phoenix Suns. It’s an interesting offer considering the Bulls were set on former Suns head coach Mike D’ Antoni before he decided to take the New York Knicks job.

The two sides still need to hammer out a deal, but apparently Del Negro has already agreed to become the next head coach.

The Bulls were expected to hire Doug Collins, who had one previous coaching stint with the team, but he and the team’s owner decided they didn’t want to risk their friendship.
