The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated catcher Ryan Doumit from the 15-day disabled list.

Doumit was placed on the disabled list on May 14 with a fractured left thumb.

He was off to a tremendous start before his injury, hitting .350 with five home runs and 15 RBI’s in just 27 games.

Catcher Ronny Paulino has been optioned back to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Paulino was batting just .218 with two home runs and 18 RBI’s in Doumit’s absence.
