The Minnesota Twins received their second pick in the first round, and with the No. 27 overall select, they picked up pitcher Carlos Gutierrez out of the University of Miami.
Just by looking at Minnesotas current starting rotation and the pitchers in the minor leagues very close to reaching the majors, you can tell that they want to build their club around pitching.
Gutierrez comes from a big time baseball school and has gotten plenty of experience pitching in big games, so he wont be in awe of anything he sees at the major league level.
Gutierrez could end up being a starting pitcher or reliever depending upon where he is needed. |
