With the No. 24 overall pick in the first round of the MLB Draft, the Philadelphia Phillies have selected shortstop Anthony Hewitt.

A high school player, Hewitt is still at least several years away from the major leagues and will make it to the big show only once shortstop Jimmy Rollins has entered the twilight of his career.

Hewitt, while a little bigger than Rollins, has a lot of the shortstop in him.

He has power at the plate but also plenty of speed and is a terrific athlete.

Hewitt has a tremendous arm and could even end up moving to the outfield down the road.
