Miami Dolphins vice president of football operations Bill Parcells said he wants defensive end Jason Taylor on the team this year.

Parcells said he doesn’t understand the rumors that persist that he doesn’t want Taylor on the team this upcoming season.

He said he doesn’t understand why he wouldn’t want one of the best defensive players leading the team he is attempting to rebuild.

Taylor has said he plans for this to be his last year and would be quite happy if he were not traded and stayed with the Dolphins.

Parcells said Taylor is not on the trade market and he expects him to spend his final season with Miami.
