The Pittsburgh Steelers have cut running back Najeh Davenport.

Davenport saw extensive time in the backfield last year after running back Willie Parker went down with a season-ending leg injury.

He also saw a lot of time the goaline back.

However, the team drafted running back Rashard Mendenhall in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft and Parker is expected to be fully healthy by training camp.

The move will save the team money under the salary cap as well as settle a crowded running back situation.
