Boston Red Sox outfielder Coco Crisp has had his suspension reduced from seven games to five games by Major League Baseball.
Crisp was suspended for charging the mound against Tampa Bay Rays pitcher James Shield after he was hit by a pitch, enticing a bench-clearing brawl.
Crisp had angered the Rays the previous night when he slid hard into second base, taking out the teams shortstop. The outfielder was upset when he tried to steal second base earlier in the game and it was blocked by Rays player, causing him to injure his finger.
He began serving his suspension last night. |
