Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal is now out until at least the All-Star break because of a bad back.

It’s a tough blow to the Dodgers, who were reaping the benefits of Furcal’s blazing hot start to the season.

Amazingly, Furcal is still tied for the team lead in runs scored despite having not played since May 5 because of a bulging disc in his back.

Furcal missed a significant number of games last year with a similar back injury, and his chronic back pain has to be a major concern for the Dodgers.
