The Atlanta Falcons have released safety Jimmy Williams.

The team moved up to draft the disgruntled former Virginia Tech star two years ago, but things simply haven’t worked out.

The Falcons knew they were taking a risk on his character, but they never knew it would become such an issue as the Michael Vick situation had not yet played out.

With character taking on an even more important role with the Falcons, the team had grown tired of Williams and his antics.

Look for another NFL team to be willing to take a risk on Williams to see if they can’t help him get his career turned around.
