San Diego Padres outfielder Brian Giles is resting his sore left shoulder and did not play Sunday against the Cleveland Indians.

The Padres were swept by the Indians in just their latest futile efforts.

Paul McAnulty took his spot in right field Sunday, but Giles expects to make his return to the lineup for a three-game series against the New York Yankees beginning on Tuesday.

Giles tweaked his shoulder a few days ago and the team just wanted to give him a day off to calm things down.
