Colorado Rockies infielder Clint Barmes is set to return from the disabled list after injuring his knee.

Barmes had earned the starting shortstop role after the quadriceps injury suffered by Troy Tulowitzki and was playing very well before he hurt his knee.

The infielder said he actually wanted to return a week ago but admitted to still having some pain.

Barmes said one of the positives of his injury was that he was still able to work on his hitting while he healed.
