The Los Angeles Angels have placed second baseman Chone Figgins on the disabled list.

Figgins has been bothered by a sore hamstring, and the team decided they couldn’t just continue to wait around for him to heal up while he took up a roster spot.

Figgins is producing well offensively, but his problem continues to be staying healthy and on the field.

In a corresponding move, the team activated second baseman Howie Kendrick.
