The Nationals are the only team in the division who is out of the postseason race, and they are also the proud owners of the worst record in all of baseball.

The team has gotten mediocre pitching, but the offense has just been dreadful.

First baseman Nick Johnson is hurt yet again and could miss the remainder of the season, while young outfielders Elijah Dukes and Lastings Milledge have failed to have breakout seasons.

The bullpen has also been hurt by the season-ending shoulder injury to closer Chad Cordero.
