Carpenter nearing return

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter is continuing his comeback from two serious arm injuries and could be back in the starting rotation as soon as next week. Carpenter still believes he needs a couple of more rehab starts in the minors before rejoining the Cardinals. However, if all goes well, he sees a return to the big leagues happening sooner rather than later. As much as fans are excited for the return of the former Cy Young Award winner, expectations needed to be tempered a bit.
