The Washington Nationals have placed first baseman Dmitri Young on the disabled list after he hasnt felt good and missed the past two games.
Young, a diabetic, has complained of low blood sugar and dizziness, so the Nationals arent about to take any chances.
The first baseman has also been slowed by tightness in his back. Manager Manny Acta said the diabetic issues were of a much greater concern, and that he isnt anywhere close to being able to play.
There is some good news about Youngs placement on the disabled list. To take his spot on the roster, the team has recalled third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who has been out a few months with a wrist injury. |
