The story of Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is one of the greatest in sports today, and last night it got that much better.
Competing in his first Home Run Derby, Hamilton hit an unbelievable 28 home runs in the first round to set a record for the most dingers hit in a single round.
After recording his eighth out with an already impressive 16 home runs on the board, Hamilton went on an unbelievable run that resulted in 12 consecutive bombs into the seats at Yankee Stadium.
Unfortunately, it appeared as though all of the swings wore Hamilton out, as he lost in the final round to Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau. |
